This guide will support members of the MICA community participating in initiatives for contemplative practice in teaching and learning.
The following book is recommended as a basic resource, and is the focus of a discussion group in 2016.
Discussion group: People meet monthly to discuss ideas and initiatives related to contemplative practices in education at MICA. Recent meetings have been on readings from Contemplative Practices in Higher Education: Powerful Methods to Transform Teaching and Learning by Daniel P. Barbezat et al. Please contact Donna Basik for information about the meetings.
MICA's Student Counseling Center provides RIO: Recognition ~ Insight ~ Openness, a 3-part seminar series presenting strategies and exercises to help one look at issues in a new way, and to identify methods of dealing with things as they come up in life. Call 410/225-2367 for more information.
