In the Spring 2024 semester, Decker Library sent out surveys to both faculty and students to better understand the opinions and uses (from curricular and artistic to personal and professional) of AI across MICA community members. These duplicate surveys have been used to inform the Decker Library on the development of this guide. Direct links to the survey results here:
This guide provides an overview of generative artificial intelligence (AI), its impacts on art and design education, ethical concerns about generative AI, and AI literacy tools and resources. We hope that this guide can share vital information about generative AI so that the MICA community can make informed decisions about navigating and using this technology and the content it produces. This is a living document and is regularly updated as we learn more about how generative AI is impacting our lives and our practices. If you have any feedback or suggestions for how this guide can be improved, please email refer@mica.edu.
