Curatorial Research : From Idea to Exhibition

Create Your Exhibition

Finding Your Partner(s)

A good partner will bring an additional layer of meaning and audience to your exhibition.

  • Find Local Organizations
    • Look at their mission to see if it would support your work.
    • Look at their past projects to see if yours would fit with what they have been doing.
    • Baltimore Heritage is a good one to start with!
  • Contact Your Representative
    • If you are working in a particular neighborhood, they might be aware of initiatives that aren't on your radar.
  • Work With Your Venue
    • If you have a venue already, see who else they have worked with or what advice they may have--they are invested in your success!
  • Curatorial Practice Theses
    • See where people already found success. Perhaps they might want to partner with you or might give you inspiration for outside of the box partnerships.
