Instruction Process A-Z

Receive Instruction Request

Via Personal Email:

Via Reference email (refer@mica.edu):

  • Whoever is on the reference desk to forward to the appropriate liaison. If you are unsure, please forward to sevans01@mica.edu stating you're not sure who this should go to.

Confirm Instruction Session

  • Instructor to send confirmation email to faculty member(s): http://bit.ly/instructionconfirm
  • If you haven't already, please add the following fields to the Instruction Spreadsheet: http://bit.ly/instructionspreadsheet
    • Librarian (First Name)
    • Confirmed Date (enter as MM/DD/YYYY)
    • Confirmed Time (enter as 00:00 AM/PM)
  • Enter Instruction Session on the "Instruction Orientations and Tours" Calendar with the following information:
    • Librarian First Name: Course Number, Faculty Full Name: AH 100.01, Kerr Houston

Prepare Instruction Session

Use this guide and/or the Instruction Google Drive Folder, which has archived instruction sessions and example Handouts.


Post-Instruction Session

At the end of the semester, Siân Evans will send a reminder to each of the instruction librarians to send a link to the Faculty Evaluation Form to the faculty who requested instruction from them: http://bit.ly/facultylibeval
